By using DictationFlow, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What the service provides

DictationFlow is a free browser based tool that reads supplied text at a target cadence for listening and writing practice. It includes modes for stenography, typing and handwriting. Features may change, pause or be withdrawn without notice.

2. Practice aid, not certification or professional advice

The displayed WPM is a target controlled by the application. Audible output depends on the browser, operating system, voice, language and text. It is not a certified timing measurement and should not be treated as an official examination recording.

DictationFlow does not guarantee improvement, employment, examination success, transcription accuracy or fitness for a particular course. Follow current instructions from the relevant school, employer, professional body or examining authority.

3. Your material and copyright

You are responsible for text, files and images you supply. Use only material you created, material in the public domain, or material you are authorised to use. Do not use the service to infringe copyright, confidentiality, privacy or other legal rights.

DictationFlow does not claim ownership of your practice text. The practice desk is designed to handle it in your browser, subject to the voice and supporting service realities described in the privacy notice.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use DictationFlow to break applicable law, distribute malicious code, interfere with the website or its hosting, probe for vulnerabilities without permission, overwhelm the service, evade reasonable safeguards or harm another person.

5. External components and services

The website depends on browser and operating system speech capabilities, Vercel hosting, supporting PDF/OCR code and an optional external feedback delivery service. Their availability, behaviour and terms are outside DictationFlow’s control. A browser update or provider change may affect features or voices.

6. Local storage and loss of work

If you enable session restore, data is stored in that browser profile. Browser cleanup, private browsing, device policies, storage limits or software errors can remove it. Keep an independent copy of important source material. DictationFlow is not a document backup service.

7. Young users

A parent, guardian or educator should supervise use where required by local law or appropriate for the learner. Young users should not enter personal or sensitive information in the feedback form.

8. Availability and disclaimer

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” to the extent permitted by law. No promise is made that it will be uninterrupted, free from errors, compatible with every device, or suitable for a particular assessment. Nothing in these terms excludes a right that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, DictationFlow and its maintainer are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service, including lost practice data, missed deadlines, assessment outcomes or reliance on speech timing.
